On a damp, cold day we stopped at Ford Green Hall, which has always intrigued me as we've driven past. What a wonderfully well preserved Tudor home with a fascinating history - from the simple day-to-day life of centuries past, to the heartbreak of serious flooding in the 1980s! A group of ladies knitting in one room gave us the feeling that domestic life has never paused here, and the house feels like a happy, welcoming home - and a warm one at that! Definitely a must for anyone who is interested in history, and anyone who enjoys small museums and domestic history. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed a cuppa in the little cafe, too!

A lovely little place, small & cosy, you can imagine living there, if you don't mind the tales of ghostly happenings. A tea room too.

Visited Ford Green Hall, nothing much to say really, it was ok. Probably went round in half an hour. Coffee shop was a bit disappointing didn't sell very much. Was expecting homemade tea and cake, so was disappointed. But there is a very nice nature reserve next to it, which we walked round and that was lovely with a lots of birds to see.

Great example of a grade ll listed building, with the main part of the structure dating back to 1624 and the Tudors. For a small entrance fee of 3.50 for adults, which is well worth it for you to have an insight to the home comforts of the once dairy farmer's family home. Nothing lavish compared to today's furnishings and trimmings , but with its solid oak beams against the plain walls and leaded glass windows, it casts a very cosy atmosphere even by today's standards.A beautiful old building to treasure, plus to sit and soak up the aura of the place with a nice brew during your visit, served by some lovely ladies is a must. Well worth a visit.

Great little bit of local history that we've finally got round to visiting. Interesting chart with volunteers. Small caf area but we didn't use this. We arrived by tandem using the canals and Biddulph valley way which give some lovely traffic free riding
