Interesting place, well maintained on the whole. Love the poetry around the lake.
Good park for the kids to play in with a couple of play areas.Just dont go walking through there at night
Big pleasant park with tennis basketball courts and the like as well as bowls. A large lake and a canal running through the park provide an attraction for water based wildlife. Parts of the park are undergoing major renovation and will prove to be a major asset. Generally a great place to relax and enjoy family time. Only let down by abysmal toilet facilities.
Restoration always seems to be going on in Hanley park. That's the only reason I personally can't give 5 stars. However, with that said, the mix of ponds, children's play areas and other large apparatus, appropriate seating, well structured paths and somewhat acting as a connector to get from place to place as a walkthrough, Hanley park is one place I like.
We had a great time here. Our 2yr old loved the play grounds. Made the most and had lunch on one of the picnic tables. Yeah it needs a little bit of TLC but still thoroughly enjoyable. If we're in the area again we will be coming again
