With friends, I went to see a documentary film on the varied history of sanitary ware, specifically in North Staffordshire. The Museum does more than cater to notions of nostalgia, housing collections which highlight the graft, as well as craft that so many folk of the past applied themselves too. I will visit again, before too long!
A superb interactive museum that is still a working pottery. A must see if you are visiting the Potteries.
A really good museum showing how the Potteries grew up and the tough lives and conditions the workers had. The skills throughout the process are demonstrated along with great displays of tiles and the development of the WC.If you eat in the caf you should try the local oatcakes......delicious.
Hidden gem. Nice museum documenting life and history of the potteries. Really enjoyed having a go at the potter's wheel and painting oriniments. Kids 5 and 7 had a great time. Would return. Also free parking and good value to enter and do activities. Well done Stoke council for spending on the upkeep and keeping a educational and history of the area engaging.
Very good. Short walk from the railway station. Gave a very good impression of what the Potteries were like. Loved being inside the chimneys. Couldn't quite work out the route around the museum but I got to see everything.You need a couple of hours to do this properly.
