Wheezing like Darth Vader but still a great gym. Friendly staff always willing to demonstrate the correct way of using the equipment without doing yourself damage.
Has everything, best to go in the evening as it's quieter, open 24hrs
Great facilities however the staff I've encountered have been unnecessarily rude towards myself by coming up to me in the middle of my workout and giving me advice which to be fair I did not need what so ever? It made me feel super uncomfortable trying to exercise. At one point I felt harassed by a man and I did warn him I have no issues in contacting the police as he was coming on to me so strongly, it was horrible. I've had an incident where the ambulance came as I didn't eat for a long period of time and eventually got a stomach cramp after I've eaten. It's all been monitored on CCTV. The ambulance just came as I was in pain however did no checks as I was ok (stomach aches in my experience are quite painful). There is no medic on site which I suggest you look into especially at night time between 12-5AM just for health and safety reasons as a cleaner really can't do much apart from take your name down but if it's an emergency what is he going to do? Without my permission my account got suspended by the gym manager, they tried ti contact me after instead of before to find out what happened so that's been really unfair on behalf of pure gym and this gym has tried to rip me off by warning me about payments which I was having none of and I've had to speak to the head office which was a lot of unnecessary hassle to clear the situation up. The account is still suspended and I still can't use the facility which is not ok with the way that the staff treat their members. Just a WARNING for anyone who wants to join. I'd go elsewhere and pay a little extra then have mental distress for 12.99. Just a heads up.
Iv been a member for over 3 years now and the gym has improved alot. I wish the treadmills and chest machines were upgraded and a few other machines. I agree some idiots leave the weight and equipment all over the place which is annoying. When the classes are on the music is way too loud. Also there used to be more than one leg machine now there is only one for press extension and curl you have to wait while some one is having a break sitting down or posing in the mirror. Please upgrade the machines there are plenty of members and have a leg section area not machines scattered everywhere. You have done great so far. I understand budget but i am prepared to pay more for better equipment
Really good gym, especially since they refurbed it! I've been going here around a year now (on-and-off ) and have never had any issues. The parking can get a bit full but I understand that this is out of their control. For a budget gym they have lots of nice little extras such as hairdryers in the changing rooms. I like that they respond properly and at length to reviews on here too, as it shows that they listen to feedback. The new massage chairs are a lovely addition as well! Perhaps my only qualm is that the showers don't have any temperature control, so you're forced to have a shower which I often find is a bit hot. Otherwise though, a really good place!
